Ever wanted to play a ghost in a historic Arizona mansion? Jerome State Historic Park has an opening for you.
The park is recruiting volunteers for its annual Flash Fright Night event. Participants can portray people from Jerome’s past, guide visitors through the darkened mansion or help set up and take down props.
The open call runs through October 12, 2026. According to the park, imagination and a willingness to use costumes and historic facts are what matter. Costume help is available, too. See the volunteer announcement.
For those who would rather attend, Flashfright Tours take place October 24 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Douglas Mansion. Last entry is at 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person and must be purchased in advance.
It’s a chance to explore Jerome’s history after dark, whether you’re following the guide or playing someone from the town’s past.
